The DAAA Board consists of all volunteers. Board members are committed to DAAA mission statement and strive to give the best athletic experience to athletes with dwarfism. The Dwarf Athletic Association of America welcomes your inquiries regarding participating in DAAA activities, becoming an athlete, volunteering your time, and making donations. Please contact one of our board members to discuss your interests,including media coverage, awareness activities and public relations opportunities.

Jeremy Harrison

President

President Responsibilities:

  • Chief officer and leader of organization
  • Chief representative and spokesperson
  • Responsible for the general and active management of business 
  • Directs board members in their roles
  • Execute all authorized conveyances, contracts and other obligations
  • Ex officio member of all standing committees of the Board.  
  • Preside, Conduct and facilitate Board of Director meetings
  • Shall appoint all temporary committees as necessary. 
  • Set monthly (and midyear) agenda and goals and make sure to follow up
  • Strengthen relationship with LPA and other national and international disabled sports organizations

Vice President Responsibilities:

  • In the absence or disability of the President, VP will perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President and shall perform other duties as the Board of Directors shall assign.
  • Works closely with President to assist in carrying out board presidentÃ??Ã?¢??s vision and directives
  • Media promotion & PR contact (in lieu of Marketing/Media/PR/Social Media board member)

Jennifer Hamill

Treasurer (Upcoming Vacancy, as of 12/31/19)

  • Have charge of the funds of the Corporation unless otherwise determined by the Board of Directors 
  • See that an accounting system is maintained which will give a true and accurate accounting of the financial transactions of the Corporation.   
  • All funds received by the Treasurer shall immediately be deposited in the depository designated by the Board of Directors. 
  • keep the bank accounts in the name of the Corporation and shall exhibit the books and accounts at all reasonable times to any Director of the Corporation upon application at the office of the Corporation during business hours.  
  • If required by the Board of Directors, he/she shall give the Corporation a bond in such sum and with such surety or sureties as shall be satisfactory to the board for the faithful performance of the duties of his office and for the restoration to the Corporation in case of his death, resignation or removal from office of all books, papers, vouchers, money and other property of whatever kind in his/her possession or under his control belonging to the Corporation.  
  • Be knowledgeable and comply with federal requirements of financial and reporting procedures. 
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting an annual budget to the Board for approval at meeting prior to the launch of the new fiscal year.  
  • Provide financial reports at each board meeting including but not limited to Revenue/Expense statements and Budget Comparison reports.  
  • The IRS Form 990 will be presented to the Board of Directors by the Treasurer for approval prior to submission to the IRS.
  • Create and provide 2019 DAAA Budget
  • Provide financial update including progress to 2017 DAAA Budget at each meeting
  • Prepare and deposit checks
  • Post checks/all deposits received w/proper class info 
  • Notify family of all donations received in memory


Adam Ayers

Sport Technical Director

  • Oversee sport technical officers for each sport
  • Oversee venue selection
  • Primary contact between facilities, STOs, and rest of board
  • Set up overall schedule (w/board input)
  • Finalize venue contracts (w/board input) 
  • Recruit and secure athletic trainers
  • Main contact at National Games for STOs, athletic trainer, and on-site directors
  • Oversee and troubleshoot National Games' sports
  • Liaison between DAAA and coaches working with short-stature athletes. 

April Brazier-Rasa

Bookkeeper (Upcoming Vacancy, as of 12/31/19)

  •  Maintain organization books in Quickbooks
  • Work closely with treasurer
  • To provide financial statements to board by class
  • To prepare yearly budget
  • To reconcile bank statements for operating accounts

Brandi Van Anne

Fundraising Chair

  • Securing new sponsors, executing fundraising programs and events, developing corporate and government relationships and expanding the Dwarf Athletic Association of America's (DAAAÃ?¢??s) interaction in the non-profit and disabled sports community. 
  • work closely with DAAA board members and report to the Board President. The Fundraising and Development Coordinator is responsible for leading the Fundraising Committee.
  • Create and execute an annual DAAA Fundraising plan to meet goals (specifically for National Games and World Dwarf Games).
  • Oversee and participate in the execution of major fundraising programs such as the Annual appeal, DAAA national Golf Tournament, Social Events and other region-based fundraising.
  • Digital Media Fundraising Campaign
  • Assist in identifying, recruiting, training and managing temporary coordinators and volunteers to serve on the Fundraising Committee.
  • Research, identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and new grant and government opportunities for athletes with disabilities.

Jeni Brown

Athlete Manager

  • Help/assist sports manager Adam Ayers

Secretary

  • Takes and uploads minutes to drive
  • Order supplies (business cards, thank you notes) 
  • Organize signage and awards
  • Attend all meetings of the board and record all votes and the minutes of all proceedings and retains these records and shall perform like duties for the standing committees when required. 
  • Give, or cause to be given, notice of all special meetings of the Board of Directors and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors or by the President, under whose supervision he/she shall act.  
  • Execute with the President all authorized conveyances, contracts or other obligations in the name of the Corporation except as otherwise directed by the Board of Directors. 
  • Point person for DAAA phone 
  • Write thank you notes for donors 
  • Organize and send eblasts for Constant Contact to share with DAAA athletes, supporters, and donors 

LPA Liaison

  •  Main point of contact for LPA/DAAA
  • DAAA's main contact for CMC
  • Ensure open communication between LPA and DAAA. Make sure they're aware of all of our planned events (regional opportunities, WDG, National Games).
  • Connect with LPA Executive Committee, LPA Board, and all District Directors and Regional Leaders at Large
  • Assist with registration booklet page & conference booklet 
  • Get on LPA quarterly calls to update LPA on DAAA
  • Connect with all district directors (email, FB groups) and as many LPA members as possible, as the LPA/DAAA rep to establish relationships by; 
    • Offer DAAA's experience, sports equipment and sports knowledge to help organize, and plan local and regional events (i.e. boccia, badminton, soccer, etc. to help athletes get more involved during the year 
    • Organize and facilitate loaning of DAAA sporting equipment to a regional or district event and follow up to ensure equipment return
